 Types of Visas

B-1/B-2 - Temporary visitor for busines or pleasure. Prospective students may also be admitted in this status.

E-1 - Trader/Investor (Spouse or Children may be included).  Must invest a substantial amount of capital in a U.S. enterprise.

F-1 - Full-Time Academic Student of Higher Education (Spouse or Children may be included). 

H-1 - Temporary Worker in Professional Specialty Occupation (Spouse or Children may be included). Must be sponsored by a U.S. company.

H-2 - Temporary Worker in Unskilled/Seasonal Services (Spouse or Children may be included). Must be sponsored by a U.S. company.

J-1 - Exchange Visitor (Spouse or Children may be included). Must be sponsored by U.S. host family as a professor, student, physician, or other foreign visitor.

K-1 - Fiance of U.S. Citizen (Children may be included).  Must be petitioned by a U.S. citizen, and must marry within 90 days of entry to the United States.

K-3 - Spouse of U.S. Citizen (Children may be included). Must provide proof of a visa petition filed by a United States Citizen at a foreign consulate.

L-1 - Intracompany Transfer (Spouse or children may be included).  Must be working for a foreign business affiliate of a U.S. company for at least one year before transferring to a U.S. affiliate.

O-1 - Extraordinary Ability in Art or Athletics (Spouse, Children, or Assistant

may be included).  Must be approved to work a specific event or performance.

P-1 - Internationally Recognized Athlete, Artist or Entertainer (Spouse, Children may be included).  May apply individually, or with a team.

R-1 - Religious Worker (Spouse, Children may be included).  Must be sponsored by a U.S. religious organization.

TN - NAFTA Professional (Spouse or Children may be included).  Must be Canadian or Mexican citizen seeking entry to engage in business activities at a professional level.
